Grammarly

03 Creation

Yes as infrastructure — Grammarly isn't where you write, it's what keeps everything you write above a quality bar without thinking about it. Pro at $12/mo annual is the operator buy; the newer Business tier is really a Superhuman suite bundle, priced for teams that want the mail client too. It polishes; it doesn't draft — that's your assistant seat's job.

The job in the stack

The proofreading seat: a quality floor under every email, doc, and post, running in the background across every app.

Models & versions

  • Grammarly Pro2026 consolidation: Premium + Business folded into one plan with plagiarism detection, AI detection, brand tones, style guides
  • Grammarly for DocsA separate AI-powered writing surface with Grammarly's agents working alongside you — not a pricing tier, a distinct product surface

The honest read

What works

  • +Works across every surface — email, docs, browsers, desktop apps
  • +Tone and clarity suggestions catch what spell-check never could
  • +Plagiarism and AI-text detection bundled into Pro
  • +One plan now covers individuals through 149-seat teams

What breaks

  • Monthly billing is 2.5x the annual rate — $30 vs $12 effective
  • Suggestions can sand the voice off distinctive writing — override freely
  • Its generative drafting trails frontier assistants; use it to polish, not produce

Use it for

  • Operators whose email and docs are client-facing
  • Teams enforcing a floor on outbound writing quality
  • Non-native English writers shipping professional copy

Skip it if

  • ×Your assistant seat already reviews everything important you write
  • ×You write rarely and casually — the free tier or nothing

Questions operators ask

?Is Grammarly still worth it when Claude can edit my writing?

Different jobs. Claude edits what you bring to it; Grammarly watches everything as you type, including the places you'd never paste into a chat — email replies, CRM notes, Slack. The passive layer catches what the active one never sees.

What changed

  1. Correction: we described the lineup as Free/Pro/Enterprise and said Pro had absorbed the Business tier. Business exists again — as the Superhuman suite bundle at $33/member/mo annual ($40 monthly), packaging Grammarly with Superhuman Mail, Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda), and Superhuman Go. Added it as a plan, corrected the Pro note to say it replaced Premium only, and reworked the verdict so the Business tier reads as a mail-client bundle rather than a bigger Grammarly. Pro pricing itself is unchanged at $12 annual/$30 monthly with 2,000 prompts.
  2. Freshness sweep: core pricing unchanged ($12 annual/$30 monthly, 2,000 prompts). Added the $60/quarter billing option and Grammarly for Docs, a new AI writing-surface product (not a pricing change).
  3. Added to the stack (proofreading seat). Verified: Premium/Business consolidated into Pro — $12/mo annual, $30 monthly, 2,000 AI prompts per member.
